🚨I can't believe it's already 2025, and I'm still making rookie-level mistakes. I'm really crying over my own foolish operation— This morning started as a small matter: I wanted to consolidate some scattered funds on-chain and transfer them back to Binance to tidy things up. The first few transactions went smoothly—BSC, ARB, Polygon, all went without a hitch. Until the last transaction—IMX-ETH. I waited for almost 5 minutes, the on-chain confirmation was done, but Binance was completely unresponsive. I thought it was stuck on-chain, but as I waited and thought more about it, I realized something was off. I opened the transaction record and took a closer look— Oh my god, I used Immutable zkEVM, but Binance's ETH doesn't support deposits and withdrawals on that chain at all! My head buzzed, and two words came to mind: it's over. I could almost hear the sound of funds flowing away through my fingers. I opened Binance's self-service recovery page and saw that the fee was 200U, while the amount of ETH I transferred was exactly worth 200U... Wow, recovering it would be like throwing water away. After weighing it for a minute, I decided to give up; forget it, I won't pursue it. I'll wait until ETH rises to 1wu to talk about it, or maybe one day @binance will show mercy and support IMX-ETH deposits and withdrawals, and I can see the light again. 😂 This incident also served as a reminder for me— 1⃣ Retail investors must always maintain a sense of awe when operating on-chain. The more chains there are, the more pitfalls there are; the more experienced you are, the less safe it might be. 2⃣ Don't operate when you're fatigued, and don't operate casually when your mind is busy with other things. Treat every step as if you're a newbie and double-check everything. 3⃣ Consolidating wallets is a meticulous task. Sometimes going slow is actually more stable; stability is the only way to combat long-term volatility. This market is already tough enough; don't trip yourself up again. One experience like this is enough; don't follow my example, really!
